TYLOSE MH 60027 P6 25/1
Tylose MH 60027 P6 25/1 is a modified Methyl Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (MHEC) polymer specifically developed for high-performance mortar formulations in the construction industry. Supplied in a very fine powder form, this product optimizes water retention in cement-based systems, thereby improving the workability and final performance of the mortar. With its high viscosity of 60,000 mPa·s, it particularly contributes to sag resistance in vertical applications.
Technical Specifications and Performance
This cellulose ether is produced via a standard etherification process and does not possess delayed solubility. Upon contact with water, it exhibits very fast consistency development. The most prominent characteristic of the product is its very high water retention capacity; thereby preventing the premature drying of the mortar even on absorbent substrates. Furthermore, due to its high thermal stability, it maintains its performance even in hot climate conditions and affects cement hydration to a minimum extent.
Application Areas
Tylose MH 60027 P6 25/1 is ideal as a binder and rheology modifier in the following construction chemical applications:
- Tile Adhesives: Increases slip resistance and extends open time.
- External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS): Provides excellent water retention in adhesive and base coat mortars.
- Smooth Block Adhesives: Offers thin-bed application capability in aerated concrete masonry adhesives.

What is the shelf life of Tylose MH 60027 P6 25/1?
It can be stored for a long period when kept in its original sealed packaging, in a dry place at room temperature. As it is a high-viscosity product, a slight decrease in viscosity may be observed during storage exceeding 1 year.
What is the flammability status of this product?
Since cellulose ethers are organic substances, they may pose a dust explosion hazard. The ignition temperature is above 360°C, but it begins to decompose at around 200°C. It must be kept away from open flames and sparks.
